Aiken Designs Structural Frames to Distribute Loads

A large independent producer operating in the Gulf of Mexico was required to install heavy equipment on a rig in a location not originally designed for such heavy loads.

Using FEA and other design tools, Aiken Engineering designed several structural frames to distribute the loads through the platform. The design was accepted by the rig owner and the operator. The operator was so impressed by Aiken Engineering during the design phase that they asked for Aiken to also project manage the fabrication and delivery of the load spreader. The project was completed on-time and under budget and the load spreader is currently installed and performing well.
